Hiya, I hope it's ok to post my fanfic here? It's the first Neighbours one I have written and it isn't brilliant but...!
Anyway, it is a two parter and the first chapter is from Karl's point of view and the second from Susan's. Feedback greatly appreciated!!

True Love
Chapter One
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
It’s true that you never realise what you have got until it has gone. I learnt that tonight as I held you in my arms once more. I suppose I had always taken your love for granted before. It had always been the one constant in my life. I knew that I had you to go home to and it would be with you that I fell to sleep every night. I can still feel your arms wrapped around me and your head on my chest as we used to lie together, just holding one another. We didn’t need words to express our love for one another, although we would always remember to tell each other we loved one another at least once a day. It was as though we were meant to be.
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They’re looking for a little romance
Given half a chance
When I was with you I never had a reason to be jealous. Above all else, I knew that you would always remain faithful to me. More than I can say for myself isn’t it. If it wasn’t bad enough the first time, I had to go and repeat history all over again. Only this time it wasn’t good enough just sleeping with someone behind your back, I had to go and get them pregnant and choose the younger model over you. If only you knew how much I regretted it at times. At first things were good, really good between Izzy and I. I felt alive; I suppose that is the result of being with someone half your age, but soon the novelty wore off. I began to see her true colours and I didn’t like what I saw.
And I've never seen that dress you're wearing
Or those highlights in your hair
That catch your eyes
I have been blind
Since I left, you have changed more than I could ever imagine possible. I’m not saying that you didn’t used to look good; I always did think you were gorgeous, but…you looked amazing tonight, my darling. I don’t know whether the change of image was for your benefit or mine, to show me what I had lost but whatever it was, it certainly worked. I must have been blind to ever let you go. Perhaps it was some sort of mid life crisis?
The lady in red is dancing with me
Cheek to cheek
I remember watching closely as you walked toward me, moving along the dance floor in your stunning red dress. I think you knew the effect you were having on me, because I couldn’t draw my eyes away from you. For the first time that evening I was truly glad that Izzy had refused to attend the charity ball which she had said sounded like it was for old age pensioners. It had been surprised by this. After all, I thought she would have been delighted to spend my money on making herself look entirely irresistible, not that she needed a fancy outfit to do that.
There's nobody here
It's just you and me
It's where I wanna be
Your light brown highlights shimmered in the candlelight, your dress accentuating your curves as you held your body close to mine. It was as though we were the only two in the room, and I remember falling for you all over again as you looked deep into my eyes, into my soul.
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
I realised as I held you that I didn’t know the person you had become since I had left. You were still Susan, still the woman I loved, but you had your own life now. We were no longer “The Kennedy’s”, the perfect couple. I destroyed that image. That perfect life was gone because of my wandering eyes and I doubted that I could ever make it right again. I wouldn’t blame you for never taking me back. I hurt you so much and I only wish that it were possible to turn back time. I hope that you believe me when I say that I am truly sorry, from the bottom of my heart.
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
I don’t know what it was that made you look so different tonight, so I can only conclude that it was the air of confidence that you were giving out. I don’t think you had really been like that during our time together. I suppose you hadn’t needed to so much then, though I wish you had because it makes you incredibly desirable. Everyone wanted to dance with you, wanted to be the one to take you home that evening. I think we both knew that they wouldn’t though, didn’t we? We both knew that tonight was our night.
And when you turned to me and smiled it took my breath away
And I have never had such a feeling such a feeling
Of complete and utter love, as I do tonight
You make me feel complete in a way that no one else ever will. A way that no one else ever could. You were my first true love and you will be my last.
I never will forget the way you look tonight
The lady in red
My lady in red
I love you
