I have known a lot of people with MS. One friend had blackouts over a long period and no-one knew why, then later she had weakness and couldn't walk. Then she was diagnosed and has learnt to cope with it. She went on to do a lot more study and did exercise to overcome the effects of the MS. She used to have a special chair in church with arms as she couldn't sit on the normal seats and her husband had to walk slowly with her, holding her up. She has been 'in remission' for a long while now and has managed to live ok. Other people I know have had rapid symptoms. One girl of 24 was in a wheelchair and helpless in months and died after a year and another young man with a young family became very aggressive, (guess he was distressed) and his walking was affected, lost bladder control and then went blind and died...so awful! Yet others support each other and lead fairly normal lives for years and years. There is a very strong support group in this town.

It certainly has to be one of the stranger illnesses around in terms of its degree of severity and frequency in occurrance of symptoms.

They're not going to kill Susan off with this MS thing are they? Please Neighbours script writers, don't kill Susan! Now that Lyn's gone, if Susan goes out of Neighbours there'd be no more totty left.

As far as I know at the moment there are no plans to kill off the character through the MS because they've given her relapsing remitting MS which is less severe than secondary progressive (the more fatal form of the illness).
